Policy Reference: JFCF – Hazing/Harassment/Intimidation/Bullying/Menacing Cyberbullying – Students
The District is committed to providing a safe, positive and productive learning environment for all students. The District will not tolerate hazing, harassment, intimidation, menacing, bullying and cyberbullying, as well as teen-dating violence by students in schools or school campuses, school sponsored buses, school-related or school-sponsored events, or through the use of data or computer software that is accessed through a computer, computer system, or computer network. The physical location or the time of access of a computer-related incident may not be raised as a defense in any disciplinary action initiated pursuant to this policy when such incident has the effect of substantially interfering with or disrupting another student or employee’s rights. Harassment and bullying means any act that substantially interferes with a child’s education that has the effect of physically harming the student or their property, placing a student in fear of physical harm to themselves or their property, or creating a hostile learning environment.
Students are encouraged to report incidents of harassment, bullying, cyberbullying, and teen dating violence to any staff member. The building principal or a designee will conduct a prompt investigation. The complainant will be notified of the findings of the investigation and, as appropriate, that remedial action has been taken.

El Distrito se compromete a proporcionar un ambiente de aprendizaje seguro, positivo y productivo para todos los estudiantes. El Distrito no tolerará las novatadas, el acoso, la intimidación, las amenazas, el hostigamiento y el acoso cibernético, así como la violencia entre novios adolescentes cuando se encuentren en las escuelas e instalaciones escolares, autobuses escolares o eventos relacionados o patrocinados por la escuela, o mediante las aplicaciones o programas informáticos a los que se accede a través de una computadora, sistema informático o red informática. El lugar y la hora en la que se lleve a cabo este tipo de incidentes relacionados con una computadora no se podrán usar en defensa en ninguna acción disciplinaria iniciada de conformidad con esta política cuando dicho incidente tiene el efecto de interferir sustancialmente o perturbar los derechos de otro estudiante o empleado. El acoso e intimidación significan cualquier acto que interfiera sustancialmente con la educación de un niño, que tenga el efecto de dañar físicamente al estudiante o a su propiedad, poner a un estudiante en temor de daño físico a sí mismo o a su propiedad, o crear un ambiente de aprendizaje hostil.
Se anima a los alumnos a denunciar los incidentes de acoso, intimidación, ciberacoso y violencia entre adolescentes a cualquier miembro del personal. El director de la escuela o la persona designada llevarán a cabo una investigación sin demora. El denunciante será notificado de los resultados de la investigación y, en su caso, de que se han tomado medidas correctivas.
